UCEP-Bangladesh has been awarded the Mother Terasa Gold Medal - 2008

UCEP-Bangladesh has been awarded the Mother Terasa Gold Medal-2008. The medal was awarded by the Mother Terasa Research Council and handed over to UCEP Executive Director Brig. Gen. Aftab Uddin Ahmad (Retd.) in a ceremony held at the Bangladesh China Friendship Centre, Dhaka on 17 December 2008. UCEP-Bangladesh has been selected for the prestigious award for their role and contribution to the country in transforming underprivileged children into human resource.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Justice Habibur Rahman, the Chairman of the Truth Commission while UCEP BoG Chairperson Mr. A. G. M Shamsul Kamal was present as one of the special guests. Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Chairperson of ATN Bangla, Monowara Hakim Ali, Chairperson of Chittagong Mohila Chamber, Allama Syed Ridwan Ishaq, Pir of Chormonai, Arch Bishop Polineus D Costa DD, Suddhananda Mohathero, Secretary of Bouddho Kristhi Prochar Sangha, reporter of national dailies and electronic media and other elites were present on the occasion.

Underprivileged Children's Educational Programs, UCEP-Bangladesh is a leading national NGO working with the distressed urban working children. UCEP also provides employment support service to the UCEP graduates in close collaboration with industries and employers throughout Bangladesh. The award of The Mother Terasa Gold Medal-2008 is in recognition of these efforts of UCEP.
