Ambassador in Bangladesh Dr. Dora Rapold inaugurated UCEP-Hafiz
Mazumdar Sylhet Technical School for Underprivileged Children at Bateshwar opposite to Jalalabad Cantonment on 19 October. The
Ambassador hoped that Underprivileged Children would get employment
opportunities on completion of their education and skill development
training at the school. Former Ministers, Ambassador of Norway
Ingebjorg Stofring, Diplomats, High civil and Military officials,
Members of UCEP Board of Governors and UCEP Association, Journalists
of national dailies and electronic media and local elite were present
on th
e occasion. Operation of the school started in July this year.
The initial capacity of the school is 130 students in 2 shifts a day
in 4 trades of 12 months' duration. The trades are Welding and
Fabrication, Auto Mechanics, Tailoring and Industrial Sewing Operation
and Industrial Electrical and Electronic Control.
