SKUTI Training Program Launched

The inauguration ceremony of the Management Training Course for the Executives of Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing of Textile and Garment industry took place in Shaheed Khalek UCEP Textile Institute (SKUTI) on January 06, 2023 in collaboration with UCEP Bangladesh and Shaheed Khalek and Major Salek Bir Uttam Trust. As a part of this training, a total of 25 participants from different organizations attended the SKUTI Training program.

Mr. Hafiz Ahmed Majumder, honourable Member of Parliament (MP), Sylhet-5 was present as the chief guest in the event, and Dr. Ubaidur Rob, Former Chairperson and present member, UCEP Board of Governors, Mr. A. Matin Chowdhury, Former Chairperson, UCEP Board of Governors and sponsor of SKUTI was present as the special guest in the event while the event was presided over by UCEP Chairperson Dr. Md. Alauddin and hosted by UCEP Bangladesh Executive Director Dr. Md. Abdul Karim.

During the ceremony, Mr. A Matin Chowdhury said that the SKUTI Course is designed to transform the garment, textile, and knitwear industries from mechanical to digital. By supplying technically qualified human resources to the industry, we will contribute directly to the enhancement of Bangladesh’s textile, knitwear and apparel industry. This will reduce the country’s reliance on international experts at the mid and senior levels and save our valuable foreign currency. 

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Md. Alauddin stated that SKUTI will prepare graduates to be successful as future technology innovators and industry leaders by encouraging them to integrate their learning. SKUTI offers quality advanced certificate courses (short and long) to students who wish to pursue careers in Textile, RMG, and Knitwear, as well as entry-level and mid-level employees. He also stated that now is the time for our future leaders of this sector to absorb all that was learned from other countries, for developing industry in Bangladesh and they could be a model for the next generation.

SKUTI aims to reduce foreign dependency through the development of mid-level engineers and executives by utilizing the knowledge of highly experienced resource persons. Moreover, SKUTI will contribute towards building the capacity of the mid-level and senior management team for sustained growth and competitiveness of this sector.

Currently, SKUTI is offering two different courses for the executives of this sector on (i) Advance Certificate in Textile & Fashion Merchandising and (ii) Certificate in skills for Textile & Garment Production Engineers
