Major General (LPR) Monirul Islam Akhand NDC, PSC has joined UCEP Bangladesh on 6th February 2022 as Advisor. Currently undergoing a Ph.D. program, Major General (LPR) Akhand has achieved master’s degree in Security and Development Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals, Business Administration from the University of South Florida, USA and Defense Studies from National University of Bangladesh, all with First Classes. He has vast experience in the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission and other strategic assignments at home and abroad including Brigade Commander, Director General of Armed Forces Division, Principal of a University College etc.
He has specialization in Management and Advance Management. He was also adjunct faculty in ten universities of Bangladesh including North South University and BRAC University and distinguished faculty of School of Infantry and Tactics, Defense Services Command and Staff College and National Defense College. Major General (LPR) Akhand got training from home and abroad. He has travelled to 59 countries for Training, United Nations Peace keeping Missions, Military Delegation and for Seminars.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, Mr. Akhand will report to the Executive Director Mr. Md. Abdul Karim. He will closely work with Program & Innovation and other Departments to strengthen UCEP’s efforts for enhanced Resource Mobilization, Enterprise Development, Business Promotion, Preparation/Implementation of Special projects etc.
