𝗨𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗨𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

UIST Dhaka’s Computer Science & Technology Department continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in robotics and innovation, as its student team “Sumo Byte Bash” secured the 1st Runner-Up position in the Sumo War (University Level) category at the 5th International Robo Tech Olympiad 2025, hosted by Uttara University on June 21, 2025.

The Olympiad, a two-day national and international event, brought together more than 150 teams from over 70 institutions, showcasing groundbreaking student innovations in robotics, artificial intelligence, and engineering design. Competing against top-tier university teams, the UIST Dhaka team stood out for their technical precision, strategy, and teamwork, positioning the university among the country’s leading institutions in tech-driven education.

The grand closing ceremony was attended by industry and academic leaders, including Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of Purbani Group and IUB Trustee Board Member, as Chief Guest. Esteemed figures such as Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Dr. Shahidul Islam, and Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, addressed participants, encouraging continued innovation and research in emerging technologies.

This achievement reflects UIST Dhaka’s growing focus on practical, project-based learning and its strategic investment in preparing students for the evolving landscape of 4IR and beyond.
