Islamic scholar Sheikh Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah Visited UCEP Bangladesh

On March 10, 2024, in Dhaka : Sheikh Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah, a distinguished Islamic scholar and orator, graced UCEP Bangladesh with a courteous visit. He met with Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the collection and distribution of Zakat from various sources to support the poor and underprivileged students of UCEP Bangladesh. Zakat, an Islamic practice of giving to those in need, was discussed in depth, with Sheikh Wali Ullah providing valuable insights on ensuring the adherence to Shariah principles in the judicious allocation of Zakat funds to the most deserving beneficiaries.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Wali Ullah took the opportunity to tour UCEP’s activities and ongoing projects. During this visit, he commended the organization’s dedication to promoting education and vocational training as vital tools for combating poverty, unemployment, and social inequality. Interacting with the trainees, Sheikh Wali Ullah delivered motivational speeches and shared moral and ethical insights, aiming to motivate and uplift all those involved.

Sheikh Wali Ullah pursued his higher education at Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, and presently, he holds esteemed positions as a Faqih member of the Shariah Supervisory Committee for several prominent banks and insurance companies. Additionally, he serves as the esteemed Khatib at the Sobhanbagh Masjid in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, embodying a beacon of spiritual guidance within the community.
