Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion (NAMI) Award 2021

The 5th NAMI Award 2021 has been awarded to Late Mr. Lindsay Allan Cheyne, Founder, UCEP Bangladesh.

Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion (NAMI) Award has been named in memory of Late Dr. Nirafat Anam who was the Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education & Research (IER) of University of Dhaka until she passed away in August 2001. Late Dr. Anam dedicated her whole life to ensure the inclusion of people with special needs in Bangladesh. This award initiative is a small gratitude to her contributions.

Asian Centre for Inclusive Education (ACIE) conferred the award on Lindsay Allan Cheyne for his great contributions in taking the movement of inclusion of the underprivileged children, persons with disabilities and marginalized communities forward. Lindsay Allan Cheyne died on September 15, 1986.

Md. Abdul Karim, PhD, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh, received the honor on behalf of Lindsay Allan Cheyne on 21 May, 2022 at Md. Abdul Karim, PhD, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh, received the honour on behalf of Lindsay Allan Cheyne on 21 May, 2022 at an event organized at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, Dhaka. Special guest hon’ble Deputy Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, M.P, Ministry of Education handed over the award to him. Hon’ble Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, M.P, Ministry of Education was virtually present as the chief guest of the program.
