Dr. Md. Abdul Karim has been appointed as Executive Director, UCEP Bangladesh in the 331st BoG meeting held on July 18, 2021, with an immediate effect from July 19, 2021 for a period until further notice. He brings 42 years of experience in the field administration, Foreign Service, Secretariat level highest position in the regulatory, development and revenue-related Ministries/Divisions. Mr. Karim is the President of Bangladesh Scouts Foundation, Bangladesh Chemical Society, Bangladesh Deaf Sports Federation and Chittagong University Alumni Association. He is the Chairman of IPDC Finance Ltd., Advisory Board Member of Asian University for Women (AUW), Chattogram and Secretary General of the South East Asian Cooperation (SEACO) Foundation, Dhaka
Mr. Karim previously served as Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Commerce, Fisheries and Livestock, Finance (Internal Resources Division) and Communications (Bridges Division) before becoming the Principal Secretary. He was Economic Councilor of Bangladesh Embassy in Brussels, Chairman of Eastern Refinery Limited and Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd; President of Bangladesh Scouts, Managing Director of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Senior Advisor of BRAC.
Mr. Abdul Karim was educated at the University of Chittagong and the University of Birmingham, UK. He was trained at home and abroad, traveled to 60 countries and represented Bangladesh in many international forums, conferences and Summits. He has written books and articles on local government, environment, empowerment of women and elderly, and disaster management etc. He has lectured at North South University, Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center, Bangladesh Military Academy, National Defense College, Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy and various other institutions. Ms. Nazmun Nahar joined at UCEP Bangladesh as Director, Finance and Compliance on June 16, 2019. She possesses extensive competencies and experiences of 17 years in financial management, financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, grants and compliance, internal control, corporate governance, accounting and auditing in business organizations, local and international NGOs. She is experienced in applying IFRSs, IASs and ISAs; conversant with US GAAP; skilled in developing, implementing and evaluating financial policies and procedures.
Ms. Nahar worked at Apex Foods Limited; a 100% export oriented Public Ltd. Co., ACNABIN, Chartered Accountants, an independent member of Baker Tilly International, BRAC, the largest non-governmental development organisation in the world and CARE Bangladesh, one of the world's largest international humanitarian organizations. She held position of Manager – Finance and Admin, Sr. Assistant Manager- Audit and Consultancy, Manager- Finance and Accounts, Sr. Financial Analyst respectively. She handled USAID funded project for more than three years. She was one of the implementer of globally respected financial analysis software Adaptive Planning and PeopleSoft environment at CARE Bangladesh.
she was working at BRAC EPL Investments Limited – a public Limited Company runs under merchant bank license as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She handled Finance & Accounts, Taxation, treasury, Secretarial, special asset management, Human resource and compliance.
Ms. Nahar completed HSC with 7th place in Dhaka Board from Bharateshwari Homes College and obtained her Honors and Masters degree in Accounting from of Dhaka. She passed four papers out of five of CA final examination called Professional Examination (PE) – III under Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. She is currently pursuing the Advance Level of CA examination.

Mr. Iqbal has more than 20 years of experience in the realm of Human Resource, Organizational Development and support functions with different leading national, multinational and international organizations. Currently, Mr. Hossain is working as Director, People and Operations of UCEP Bangladesh. Before joining UCEP Bangladesh, he worked for Action Aid International; both Bangladesh and Afghanistan country offices as Director HROD & IT. During his work tenure with ActionAid Afghanistan, he was entrusted with the duty as Interim/Acting Country Director of ActionAid Afghanistan for 10 months.
During his diverse career, he also worked in Nonviolence Peaceforce, Sri Lanka, CARE International Bangladesh and PRAN-RFL business conglomerate. For the last 9 years, Mr. Hossain has been working as a member of Senior Management Team member and thus actively contributing to the strategic decision-making processes. He started his career as a Lecturer in Marketing. Mr. Iqbal achieved Master degree in Marketing from Dhaka University, MBA (Major in HR) from East West University and Post-graduate Diploma from Bangladesh Institute of Management.

Mr. Bosu is a development professional and has been working in improving the livelihood of economically and socially challenged people of the nation over the last two decades. Currently he is working as Deputy Director, Social Enterprise Development (SED) wing of UCEP Bangladesh.
He was the former Team Leader of the Social Business unit of Grameen Telecom Trust. As the team leader, he was responsible for heading the planning and implementation of social businesses, including Entrepreneurship Development Programme on behalf of the Trust.
As former Executive Director, Director and founder Coordinator of Centre for Advanced Research and Social Action (CARSA) a renowned action-oriented research organization and Microfinance Institute (MFI), Mr. Bosu looked after all of its Programmes/Projects, Accounts and day to day Management.
Mr. Bosu also worked as a Program Officer at Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (bff), the first national donor agency. He has extensive exposure to testing development tools and models while leading different organizations and functions. Mr. Bosu’s strength lies in Entrepreneurship Development, Micro Finance, Program Designing, Implementation, Training, Monitoring and Organization Development.
