UCEP Bangladesh organized a strategic workshop titled “Strategic Discussions with Teachers and Sustainability of UCEP Schools” on 31 July 2025 at Cheyne Hall, UCEP Dhaka North Region.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including Dr. Ubaidur Rob, Chairperson of the UCEP BoG; Dr. Mohammad Alauddin, Former Chairperson, UCEP BoG; and Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director, along with the senior management, other high officials, heads of five technical schools, and 52 teachers. The workshop focused on aligning academic and operational priorities with long-term sustainability goals, covering themes such as financial resilience, academic excellence, community engagement, and institutional branding.
Dr. Ubaidur Rob emphasized improving academic performance, setting targets for two-thirds of students to achieve “A+” by 2026 and a 100% pass rate by 2027. He also focused on institutional accountability and increased visibility of UCEP schools. Discussions included local fundraising through partnerships with banks and alumni, promoting UCEP schools as “Model Schools” to attract diverse student groups, capacity building for teachers, and the need for infrastructure development. Key action points were identified, including the development of sustainability plans, formation of resource mobilization task forces, strengthening academic performance frameworks, infrastructure assessment, and launching a teacher development calendar.
Dr. Md. Abdul Karim concluded the workshop by encouraging all participants to take ownership of the directives and work collectively toward making UCEP schools a model of inclusive, high-quality, and sustainable technical education in Bangladesh.
