UCEP Bangladesh observed International Women’s Day 2026

UCEP Bangladesh observed International Women’s Day 2026 by organizing a discussion session with the participation of esteemed representatives from the government, UCEP Board of Governors, partner organizations, UCEP officials, and beneficiaries.

The event was graced by Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, Executive Chairman (Secretary), National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) as the Chief Guest. Dr. Ubaidur Rob, Chairperson, UCEP Board of Governors and Ms. Uzma Chowdhury, CPA, Vice Chairperson, UCEP Board of Governors, attended the programme as Special Guests. Dr. Sirajum Munira, Gynecologist, Bangladesh Specialized Hospital, joined the event as the Guest Speaker. The session was presided over by Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director, UCEP Bangladesh.

Prior to the programme, the Chief Guest, along with the distinguished guests and attendees, visited the training facilities of UCEP Dhaka North Region to observe the ongoing skills development activities and interact with trainees.

During the discussion, the speakers highlighted the important role of families in ensuring the rights of women and girls at the micro level and emphasized the need for more supportive and friendly workplaces for female staff. In her remarks, the Chief Guest underscored that economic independence is a key factor in empowering women. Other speakers shared how skills training can create pathways for women toward economic independence.

The Guest Speaker also placed special emphasis on women’s health, particularly reproductive health issues. She highlighted the need to raise awareness and develop supportive policies to address taboos and ensure better health support for women.

The event was vibrant and engaging, with the enthusiastic participation of UCEP staff members and beneficiaries, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the empowerment and well-being of women and girls.
