On July 15, 2024, KiK UCEP Ghashitola Technical School hosted a dynamic World Youth Skill Day celebration that included a rally, speeches, and student project competition to highlight the global significance of labor and skills development among youth. The event commenced with a welcome by the Head of the Technical School, followed by an energetic rally through the school grounds and local areas, with participants holding banners promoting the value of skills and labor. Md. Salman Khan, Assistant Instructor, expressed pride in celebrating the day and emphasized the school’s commitment to raising awareness about labor rights and preparing young people for the workforce. Shakila Akter, Assistant Instructor Technical Skill ICT, spoke about the themes of unity and empowerment, recognizing the crucial role of youth in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Students participated in a project competition related to the day’s theme, showcasing their understanding of labor and skills development, with prizes awarded for outstanding projects. The celebration concluded with a keynote address by Mosammat Rafeza Khatun, Head of the Technical School, who highlighted the essential role of workers in shaping societies and economies and reaffirmed the school’s dedication to social responsibility and advocacy for workers’ rights. The successful event combined various activities to celebrate the value of skills and labor, engaging students in meaningful ways and demonstrating the school’s commitment to promoting labor rights and developing future skilled professionals, ultimately aiming to empower youth for a thriving future.
